In person or Telehealth
Penny is an LMSW who has been working with families and children since the early 2000s. Licensed in New Mexico and practicing under clinical supervision, her work focuses on supporting clients navigating life transitions, particularly those experiencing trauma, grief, and the emotional impact of complex medical experiences. She believes in meeting clients with compassion, cultural humility, and respect for each person’s lived experience, supporting healing and sustainable growth.
Penny graduated from New Mexico Highlands University. During graduate school, she was invited by her clinical supervisor to participate in the New Mexico Diversity Project for Sandplay practitioners, where she was first introduced to Sandplay therapy. This experience led her to pursue advanced training, ultimately achieving her RSP (Registered Sandplay Practitioner) credential. She now serves on the board of the New Mexico Sandplay Society. In her final year of graduate school (2024), she completed an internship with the University of New Mexico Cancer Center’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, where she integrated Sandplay therapy with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer patients. She is currently in training toward EMDR Level I certification and beginning specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Penny provides community-centered, culturally responsive care and works with clients ages 7 through elder adulthood. Her clinical work is grounded in supporting client autonomy, resilience, and meaningful connection, while continuing to expand her skills in trauma-informed and experiential therapies.
Originally drawn to work supporting families and children, Penny continues to value connection, community, and lifelong learning. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time with her pup and connecting with her community.
